Let us prepare your taxes for free!

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, is a free tax preparation service, sponsored by the IRS, but performed by certified volunteers.

You can come and get your taxes done by friendly, highly-skilled tax preparers in a well-equipped and comfortable environment. Our volunteers' computers use up-to-the-minute software and we can electronically file your return when it is finished, which is faster, more accurate, and more secure than sending a paper return through the mail.

Longmont VITA will maintain our usual business hours this year.

This year will be our last year at the Elevations Credit Union location. We do not have a new location yet. We will post our new location and new hours here when we know more.  As most of you know, we are completely run by volunteers and our office space, desks, internet access, and computers are all donated by very generous local entities who want to give back to their community.  Elevations Credit Union has been very generous by providing the space we’ve been using for the last 14 years.  Thank You.

In Longmont, you have a choice of two locations generally operating from the first week of February through tax day in April.

See their respective pages for days and hours of operation.

Both of these locations offer free tax help for taxpayers with federal and state returns.

Longmont VITA helps those with basic returns and income up to $64,000 per household. The income limitation is per return, so couples filing joint returns must have a combined income of $64,000 or less.

The Longmont Senior Center Tax-Aide (AARP) program offers free tax help for those who are 60 years of age and older, specializing in  pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors.

Additionally, the Longmont Senior Center offers help with the State of Colorado PTC rebate forms. See their page on this site for more informationLongmont VITA does not help with these forms.
